obsession; but in the real world, there is much more to the practice of Forensic Science. This course offers
an introduction to crime scene investigation, including the techniques and tools used for gathering
and analyzing evidence.
Students dive into forensics, learning through case studies and mock crime scenes and hands-on lab work.
They dust for fingerprints, collect samples, locate bomb fragments and identify evidence. Students also learn
how to organize information critical to both criminal investigation and prosecution. Field trips to local crime
labs and talks from guest lecturers provide a view into the life of a criminologist. The course culminates in a mock
crime scene investigation – a realistic mystery to solve!
